Affinity Town Halls

I am committed to fostering community engagement and inclusivity through the establishment of affinity town halls. These gatherings will be organized to bring together individuals with shared interests, backgrounds, or experiences to discuss pressing community issues, build connections, and promote a culture of inclusivity.

Affinity town halls will focus on specific topics, such as racial equity, LGBTQ+ rights, environmental concerns, affordable housing, mental health awareness, and economic justice. These forums will provide participants with a platform to voice their opinions, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions that reflect the diverse perspectives within the community.

For example, a dedicated affinity town hall for the Latino community in Hillsboro could address issues such as access to education, immigration policies, and cultural representation in local government. This gathering would create a safe space for Latino residents to share their experiences, discuss challenges they face, and work together to advocate for policies that support their community.

By creating spaces for advocacy, education, and community building. I aim to help cultivate a sense of belonging and collective action among various groups. Affinity town halls will serve as vital instruments in strengthening community ties and ensuring that all voices are heard in the decision-making process. Through this initiative, I envision a more engaged and connected community that embraces its diversity and works together toward shared goals.
